Left Calling BS On Biden?

Is The Left Eating Itself Alive? Left Calling BS On Biden?

By JR1 | JR1 | 7 Mar 2021

After seeing several posts on “right” leaning media sites about Joe Biden’s remarks during the recent CNN Town Hall in Wisconsin, I decided to look at various “News” sites to see how the media coverage varied.

What I found:
I was genuinely surprised to see “left” leaning “News” outlets (i.e., CNN and Breitbart) calling BS on Biden, after witnessing their clearly biased media coverage during the recent presidential race.

One of Biden’s remarks that I found a number of articles calling BS on was his statements regarding the Covid-19 vaccine. Below is a timeline for those unfamiliar:

Biden claims there were no Covid-19 vaccines prior to him taking office at a town hall meeting in Wisconsin (attached video clip shown above)

Below are small excerpts from scathing CNN and Breitbart articles calling Biden out on his Covid-19 vaccine lie:

1. Breitbart: Joe Biden’s 7 Cringeworthy Moments at Wisconsin Town Hall:
Biden then claimed, “We didn’t have [the vaccine] when we came into office,” which fact-checkers were quick to debunk. The first dose of the Pfizer vaccine was given on December 14 and the first dose of the Moderna vaccine was given on December 22 — a month before he was inaugurated on January 20, 2021. - Joe Biden's 7 Cringeworthy Moments at Wisconsin Town Hall (breitbart.com)

2. CNN: Fact check: Biden makes at least four false statistical claims at CNN town hall:
Biden made a series of claims about the Covid-19 vaccine situation upon his January inauguration. He said early at the town hall that when "we came into office, there was only 50 million doses that were available." Moments later, he said, "We got into office and found out the supply -- there was no backlog. I mean, there was nothing in the refrigerator, figuratively and literally speaking, and there were 10 million doses a day that were available." Soon after that, he told Cooper, "But when you and I talked last, we talked about -- it's one thing to have the vaccine, which we didn't have when we came into office, but a vaccinator -- how do you get the vaccine into someone's arm?" - Fact check: Biden makes at least four false statistical claims at CNN town hall - CNNPolitics

My take:
During the CNN Town Hall Biden made numerous incorrect statements and even a few that where outright appalling. For instance, Biden down played China’s treatment of the Uyghur Muslim population (considered by many to be essentially genocide) attributing this to simple differences in cultural norms between US and China.

Just one month into the Biden presidency, I expected the see “left” leaning “News” media going along with anything Biden said or did. So when I saw numerous articles published calling BS on Biden, I was pleasantly surprised.

It is curious though, after nearly a year of praising Biden’s every action and word, for the “left” leaning “News” media to turn on him just months into his presidency. Is the left eating itself alive?
