However, in the last two years, the focus of the financial world has increasingly shifted towards "Real World Assets" (RWA), or the tokenization of real-world assets. Government bonds, real estate, private loan funds, gold, and even works of art can now be represented on the blockchain. By 2026, the RWA market is projected to reach tens of billions of dollars in size, with major financial institutions entering the sector directly.

Significant growth was observed in tokenized treasury products, particularly during the 2025–2026 period. Traditional financial giants such as BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and JPMorgan made direct entries into the sector. Bernstein analysts describe 2026 as the beginning of the "tokenization supercycle" and predict the market could reach $80 billion. Increased regulatory clarity also supports growth. MiCA regulations in Europe and the tokenization-friendly approach of Asian financial centers have accelerated institutional capital inflow.
