The year is flying by and September has officially come to an end, and that once again means that it is my favorite time of the month. The time when I calculate all of my crypto-related earnings for the entire month. If you are new, this is part of an ongoing monthly series that I write chronicling my journey toward hopefully reaching financial freedom.
There are two main reasons that I write these articles. The first is by tracking and writing down my results, it helps me to see my own progress. Which helps to keep me motivated to keep trying even harder. The second reason is that I hope other people will read these articles and become motivated to begin their own journey toward financial freedom. If I can do it, you definitely can as well.
In September, my earnings continued to come from my main two sources; writing about crypto, and staking, with a few learning and task rewards sprinkled in there. During this month I decided to take a step back from the crypto market for a bit and take a break to become refreshed. A large reason for this mindset was that I moved to a different country during this period. Another is that I was trying to experiment with the Medium platform and see how posting less would affect my earnings. And finally, simply because nothing was happening in the market I felt it was a great chance to take a small break.
Maybe you didn’t even notice I was away. I was still posting, but a little less frequently. I was posting articles from my large backlog collection that I have written in the past. But now I’m back, and ready to go.
We are at an interesting point in the cryptocurrency cycle. The calm before the storm. There is no denying that the last two years have been difficult to be in this market. But I’m a firm believer that things are about to pick up, and that is why I’m trying to accumulate as much as possible before that happens.
While overall I am happy with my performance during the month of September. Especially with me essentially being absent and taking a break. However, the numbers have dropped dramatically. Largely due to Medium falling off.
Without further delay, let’s look at my performance during September.
Cryptocurrency Blogging
Publish0x has always been my most consistent earner. Since I’ve moved to the US, I can no longer use KuCoin. This is why I’m so excited that Publish0x announced that they will begin giving rewards on the Optimism network. The future is looking great for the community here.
I recently reached my goal of 8,500 followers and my next goal is to reach 9,000 followers. Thank you to everyone for reading, supporting, and commenting on my articles. I can’t thank you enough.

My performance on Hive during September wasn’t great. I’m hoping it will improve in the future.

Nothing new to report on Substack. I’m still posting here, but haven’t seen substantial growth recently.
Substack Total = $0
My performance on Medium as far as the article reads, views, and followers has never been better. Recently reached 3,500 followers on the platform. However, earnings have dropped significantly since they changed their earning algorithm.
During September I posted much, much less on Medium. In some cases, I saw that this increased my earnings per article. It seems that maybe they don’t value daily posts on the platform. I will continue experimenting there and see what works best.

Unfortunately, there were no freelance writing opportunities this month.

Cryptocurrency Blogging Total = $245.75
Crypto Staking
Ethereum (ETH)
For the moment I’m just not sure what I want to do with a portion of my Ethereum, and so I have it staked on Ethereum. This could just in the future.

Internet Computer (ICP)
This is the biggest wildcard in my crypto portfolio. I continue to earn passive ICP by having it staked on the NNS and participating in governance votes.

Airdrops
Unfortunately, I didn’t receive any airdrops of note during the month of August.

Total September Earnings = $300.79
Overall, my earnings for the month of September dropped largely due to my performance on Medium during the month and taking a break. However, I am excited to bounce back and hopefully improve my performance next month.
