July has officially come to an end, and that once again means that it is my favorite time of the month. The time when I calculate all of my crypto-related earnings for the entire month. If you are new, this is part of an ongoing monthly series that I write chronicling my journey toward hopefully reaching financial freedom.
There are two main reasons that I write these articles. The first is that by tracking and writing down my results, it helps me to see my own progress. Which helps to keep me motivated to keep trying even harder. The second reason is that I hope other people will read these articles and become motivated to begin their own journey toward financial freedom. If I can do it, you definitely can as well.
During July, my earnings continued to consist of 2 main sources. Writing about cryptocurrency and staking. As always, I’m still searching for a 3rd pillar to add to the mix ever since I stopped lending out crypto.
Finally, excitement is returning to the cryptocurrency market and that is resulting in increased numbers as far as blogging goes. With BlackRock applying for a spot Bitcoin ETF, and several other investment funds following suit; whenever those are approved we could be in for something truly special. That’s not even taking into consideration that the next Bitcoin halving is soon approaching as well.
Crypto blogging is similar to crypto YouTube. Numbers and performance go parabolic during the bull market and slow down significantly during the bear market. However, those who continue building and growing their followers will be rewarded during the next market upswing. That has been my goal at least. Either way, the next few months will be very interesting to watch.
Without further delay, let’s look at my performance during July.
Cryptocurrency Blogging

Publish0x has always been my most consistent earner. Unfortunately, since I’m a US-based user, I can no longer take advantage of their auto-deposit into KuCoin service. This means I need to pay huge gas fees if I want to exchange my earned crypto for other cryptocurrencies.

I’m slowly moving closer to my next goal of 8,500 followers. Thank you to everyone for reading, supporting, and even commenting on my articles. It means the world to me.
Publish0x Total = $53.99
I am very excited to see my earnings continuing to come back on Hive. With excitement coming back to the cryptocurrency market, people are much more excited to read about it. I’m excited to see if my earnings can rise up to the levels I was seeing during the previous bull cycle.
Hive Total = $81.75
My follower numbers on Substack continue to increase, but unfortunately, there were no new paid members this month.
Substack Total = $0

July was a big improvement in terms of performance on Medium. Beginning in August, Medium is changing its algorithm of how they pay its authors. I’m eagerly waiting to see if this will either continue to increase my earnings or if I could see a drop.
Medium Total = $683.77
Freelance Writing
Unfortunately, there were no freelance writing opportunities this month.
Freelance Writing Total = $0
Cryptocurrency Blogging Total = $819.51
Crypto Staking
Ethereum (ETH)
For the short term, I am continuing to stake a portion of my Ethereum on Coinbase. While I hate the large fees that Coinbase charges for staking, there are few other centralized staking places for Americans that I would trust. While I am giving up profits compared to staking through RocketPool, or another decentralized place, using Coinbase does make filing my taxes much simpler which I have grown to appreciate over the years.
0.0302434 ETH = $55.04
Internet Computer (ICP)
As always I am continuing to stake my ICP that I have locked on the NNS and am enjoying the passive income. Nothing new to report here.
ICP Total Earned = 3.70 ICP = $15.35
Crypto Lending & Staking Total = $70.39
Miscellaneous
Coinbase Wallet
Access -

Coinbase continues to be the gift that keeps giving. This month they were offering a normal learn and earn on the exchange for Access (ACS) that rewarded you $5 worth of ACS. Along with that, they were offering a $15 reward opportunity for simply performing a few tasks on the Coinbase wallet. Similar to their previous offerings with Optimism. Just a fair warning, ACS runs on Solana and you will need a little bit of it to use as gas to perform the transactions.
Access (ACS) — $20
Coinbase Earn Total = $20
Airdrops
Previously I used to mention my SWEAT tokens that were being unlocked on a monthly basis. However, that token has lost so much of its value that I will no longer mention it.
Miscellaneous Total = $20
Total July Earnings = $909.90
Overall, my earnings for the month of July were an improvement from what I saw in June, largely due to my increased performance on Medium. I’m excited about how my performance could increase once the cryptocurrency market begins to recover.
How about you? What have you been doing to earn crypto income?
