Hello I wanted to write this to share my thoughts. This all started about a week ago. While at work (I install heating and air conditioning for a small company)I received a few phone call from my girlfriend. I don’t really answer calls to often from anyone while I am working cause I don’t like being bothered while on a job. After the third time she tried my boss called me to ask me to call my girlfriend. (I work for my girlfriend father). So I asked him what’s going on he told me to let her explain it to me. So I called her and she told me that my nephew that lives with us is not feeling good and got a high temperature. So he was just taken to get a covid test.
At the same time I am beginning to worry a lot while working unless a customer is around me I pull my mask down around my chin. It helps to keep my glasses from fogging up. I am really worried cause the day before I was about 5 feet away from him. I have 2 guys that work with me one. One of my coworkers girlfriend is pregnant and about to be giving birth any day. Did I just infect my whole company.
So I called my boss to let him know what’s going on. He tells me to leave the job and go get tested. So I call my coworkers outside and explain what’s going on. The coworker that has a girlfriend that’s pregnant is getting worried since he was working close to be for half the day
So I told him about what little contact I had with my nephew in the past week. And told him I am going to go get tested. I started calling places trying to find a rapid test. And no one would give me one cause I was not showing symptoms.
And then I found a appointment for later that day. I went and had a test done. And now I had to just wait. I can’t go home cause if I don’t have it I don’t want to catch it. So I called my girlfriend to pack me up a bag with a couple changes of clothes my laptop and my Nintendo switch. I had her put it on the porch over night so I could pick it up the next day. At the same time I was making appointment for everyday for the next week to get a test done.
I had some money put away to invest in some crypto but it’s beginning to look like I am going to need that money to pay for hotel rooms intill I can go home. I also didn’t want to go to a hotel the first night cause I didn’t know if I was positive yet. So I decided that intill I know I don’t want to infect anyone else. So I went and bought some stuff to help keep me warm. It’s been real cold here in the north east USA lately about 18f at night and less. I didn’t get my first results for 3 days. And they where negative which was great news. But I had to take off work for 2 weeks. I am hoping to be able to go home in a few days. And 2 weeks before this whole covid mess I cracked a ankle bone and had to go to the hospital and get a blow up cast. It takes a lot to get me to take time off of work. Moneys tight so being off this 2 weeks hurt bad
This has been a test of a lot of things for me and I am a fighter. Just hoping when everyone in my house gets tested in a couple days everyone will be negative. There are 5 children in my house and hoping it’s not spreading so far no one else is showing any symptoms. I just wish the government would spot the bullSh*t and start taking action to really stop this virus.
I found out how my nephew got covid his friends mom has it and he went over to the house to give his friend back a game he borrowed and the kids mom answered to door and let him in. And the best is She knew she had covid and didn’t care enough to tell him. God I want to make her pay for that.
