20 Million Scanned Coinbase QR code. See 60 second Superbowl commercial here. It's DOPE!

By Netzien | Netzien | 15 Feb 2022

You read that right. Last Sunday, the Rams won the Superbowl, and, Coinbase ran a commercial that was dope (video below). A favorite of all time. Retro gaming and metaverse music and chills down my spine. It was just a QR code bouncing around a black screen akin to a Windows 95 Screen Saver without ANY text until the very end.

And, guess what, it got attention. 20 million people scanned it within 60 seconds. Only at the very end of the commercial did it actually mention anything and finally Coinbase in very small text at the bottom of the TV screen.

Superbowl Ads are ridiculously expensive. I went to login in via desktop after I saw the Coinbase ad, thinking maybe it was like a contest or a giveaway, and because I needed to check in anyway. I couldn't, the system crashed. It may in fact be a contest to win 3 million if you scan the QR code.

Bullish on Coinbase all else being equal. While they expected millions to scan the code, the volume was perhaps 10X that. They just weren't ready. How fitting, since everything else in Crypto just can suddenly without warning moon. Imagine being the creator behind that one - level UP baby. Chief marketing officer Kate Rouch was "astounded" at the unexpected volume. I wonder how many new people were onboarded.

Not investment advice. Thanks for stopping by. Hope the finds you in good spirits.
