Right now the crypto industry is like the old wild west, lawless and full of bandits.  We can all see that governments around the world are starting to try and get some regulations together to attempt to get a grip of it all, but there will always be scams in crypto, and that's because there will always be people willing to invest money into them.

The majority of people will know it is most likely a scam they are investing in, but the risk Vs reward of crypto means that they could make life changing gains if it does turn out to be ligitimate.  Think about it, if you invest $1000 into a coin and it does x1000, then you are a millionaire.  On the other hand if it turns out to be a scam, you've lost $1000... A big blow, but not the end of the world.  The scammers know this, and if they can manage to get just 500 people to take that bet, then they can rug for $500,000.  That's why there will always be scams in crypto.
