Spam AI Writing Content: A Growing Problem for Writing Platforms

As a long-time user of Publish0x, I've noticed a concerning trend that is impacting the quality of content on the platform and others.

The rise of spam AI writing, where writers use ChatGPT to generate articles filled with meaningless jargon and referral links, has become increasingly prevalent. It's evident when reading these articles that they lack the depth and authenticity that comes from genuine human writing. Deceptive titles and excessive referral links only add to the frustration.

Publish0x is not alone in facing this issue. Medium, Mastodon, and even LinkedIn have also fallen victim to the invasion of junk content created by ChatGPT.

While Publish0x remains a valuable asset in the crypto industry and a great way to earn cryptocurrency, the increasing amount of spam content is overshadowing the real writers and meaningful content that should be highlighted.

I won't name specific writers or link to their spammy articles, as that would only further promote their desire for referral clicks and mediocre tips. But it's important to address this growing problem and call for action to address the abuse of AI-generated content.

Hybrid Writers Are Another Thing

Hybrid writers, who use AI content as an editing tool or supplement their own writing, are a different story. This approach could be seen as an evolution of writing, with AI serving as a tool rather than the sole creator. However, pure AI spam content is nothing more than mindless bot-generated content, similar to the spam comments we see on Twitter but on a much larger scale.

Why AI Sucks

In my opinion, AI content will never surpass human creativity. While AI may excel in chess and mathematics, it lacks the originality, personality, and human touch that make writing meaningful. The transparency of AI content, its consistent structure, and certain word usage give it away. Genuine human-created content stands out with its imperfections and inconsistencies.

Lastly, I want to mention the issue of referral spam. While I have used referral links in the past, I have never compromised the quality of my content for the sake of pushing those links. Unfortunately, there are writers who churn out low-grade AI-generated content with excessive referral links, while others put in the effort to produce higher-quality content.
