Does Crypto Need Saving?
I won't make many friends with my answer, but the answer is YES.

We are all into this together, right?
Doubtful...
From the new person just learning about crypto, gurus to exchange owners and corporations, we all have a stake in what the future holds for crypto.
From Bitcoin to shitcoin, exchange currencies to tokens for socks, the world of crypto has changed, blossomed and exploded into the cryptospace. Creating opportunities, jobs, companies, securities, and conglomerates, crypto has boomed from a singular beginning to a massive new frontier.
So far so good, right?
Not really. No. Not at all actually.
Bitcoin brought the world a revolutionary idea and that idea has turned into a cesspool of greed, indifference and challenges that go well beyond the scope of what crypto was intended to be.

Where we once had hope and prosperity, we now have greed and irresponsible behavior. Scams and criminals plague the world of crypto and sometimes the line between good and bad can become very blurry and unrecognizable.
Large exchanges control the prices and movements. Those same exchanges oftentimes shut down right when a chance to cash out comes to fruition. Not going to name names, but a very popular exchange out there often times manages to have a black out whenever Bitcoin crests about 10k. Just saying...
Why would that happen? Because greed has undermined freedom and freedom only really now exists for the most wealthiest of the wealthy in crypto.
It doesn't just end there, it also falls on the shoulders of all of us, the small fish swimming in the big pond. From the whale with a big bag of BTC to the kid buying game tokens. We are to blame just as much as the exchanges destroying crypto.
We are to blame because we are also just as greedy and indifferent as the exchanges are and our way of thinking is hurting the movement bitcoin started.
How?
Because we are all looking for that next "Get Rich" quick scheme, that next overnight sensation, that next big thing, so we can buy low and cash out and be rich and wealthy, drive lambos and eat out at 5 🌟 Restaurants.
Maybe we don't share the same visions, after all at 45 I would love to be able to own a home and send my kids to college. The lambo can wait.
My point is though, that wasn't the intention of Satoshi Nakamoto. I don't believe his dream was to make everyone a greedy mass of assholes but here we are watching the foundation of crypto go from a great idea to basically a crazy inflated greed controlled cyberspace, filled with fools and crooks.

Unfortunately, we will never have what crypto was intended to be, simply because we were never responsible enough to have it in the first place. Like Alien technology turned into a weapon, we were graced with an opportunity to change the world for the good of mankind and turned that gift into a crypto Wal-Mart filled with crap and rude shoppers.
Can we save Crypto?
My answer is maybe.
I don't think the current status quo is going to change, so we must change. The greatest threat to greed is the people it controls.
If "We the People" of crypto can only unite on the same page, then maybe crypto has a chance.
In order to change how crypto is functioning, we have to have a chance to create control and oversight. The entire crypto world needs oversight and regulation. We need to make sure exchanges work for us, not for themselves and we need to make sure every newly released token or project isn't just some group of jackholes looking to scam a few thousand eager newbies.
We need intervention.
We need oversight.
We need to change and change soon or we will face the same issues that plague fiat currencies all over the world.
The Devil is in the details.

We can not change the beast of greed but we can walk away and starve it from having the power it has.
We need to change how exchanges work and apply regulations that restrict fraudulent actions and enforce proper operations. We can't allow big corporations to continue to get away with it or crypto will be doomed.
We also need to change how we operate and how we invest. We then need to take a long deep look into how we need to change. We could easily create a better world for crypto if we had a better way to educate users of crypto and give them a fighting chance before they lose their savings buying into a scam or falling victims to poorly run corrupt exchanges.
We truly need to get to the root of the problem and start finding solutions. Better ways to control the future of crypto are coming but between then and now, we have a challenge.
That challenge is us.
We need to change first.
