On Making Wise Decisions

On Making Wise Decisions

I want to talk to you all a little bit about trusting in God - especially now during this difficult season in which we live. More so in making decisions, whether big or small, as it pertains to our lives. And how a decision can change our trajectory. Ultimately, it's what does our Heavenly Father say?

We've all heard this scripture at one point or another, Proverbs 3:5-6

it reads, " Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Trusting in the Lord when things seem uncertain, and when doubt and anxiety enter the heart - we must acknowledge him in all our ways - meaning putting God's will as the priority.

Sound biblical advice:

When making a big decision: moving to another state or country even, or seeking a new career, dating, or starting a new relationship,

three things;

Pray - James 1:5 - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Seek Counsel - Proverb 15:22 - Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisors, they succeed.

Wait on the Lord - Lamentations 3:15 - The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.

Matt 6:33 Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Soren Kierkegaard - a Danish philosopher and theologian, said, "Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward."

Perhaps in this season, we might not understand God's plan for our lives, especially when things aren't going according to our plans. But trust in the Lord, He walks with us, in front of us, and will meet us wherever He chooses to place us.

A quick prayer/question:

Lord almighty and most gracious king, where would you have me to go in this season? Work in me Lord that Your will be accomplished through me, and regardless of the uncertainty I will trust You.

In Jesus name,

Amen.
