HOW SHE BURNED
You said i'm like a fire that ignited a light in your life different
but you were quick to drop me when I started melting in your arms suddenly, I was "burning a little too bright"
You said you loved the warmth, the spark, the shadows I painted on the empty walls of your heart but you stood there and watched idly, while I slowly burned out you said it was all just too pretty
You stood there and traced the ashes of what's left of me,
blew away the smoke, and watched it rise while everything else fell apart
Then you snuffed me out completely and realized,
I wasn't the blaze in the hearth of your home, nor was the flame of the candles you bathe under with eyes closed I was just the lit tip of your cigarette
