Another exciting cryptocurrency trading day is coming to an end, and that means taking a look at today’s winners and losers when it comes to cryptocurrency coins. Here are my top five cryptocurrency movers for December 19, 2020:
#5: Bitcoin (BTC) ($23,811.15, +4.58%)

First cryptocurrency on the list is the original crypto coin that started it all, Bitcoin! Investors in BTC are celebrating today, as Bitcoin has reached another new all-time high at $24,210. Bitcoin continues it’s impressive positive run from the beginning of this month, and might seek even higher gains in the upcoming days.
#4: Binance Coin (BNB) ($33.68, +10.08%)

Binance Coin was one of the biggest gainers percentage wise today, on positive news throughout the crypto markets. For those unfamiliar with BNB, it is an Ethereum-based (ERC-20) token that is used to trade crypto and pay fees on the Binance exchange. BNB continues to grow, and is now ranked the tenth most valuable crypto coin by market cap.
#3: Decred (DCR) ($33.00, -5.58%)

One of the few cryptocurrency coins in the negative today, Decred gave back some of the 40% gains it has experienced in the past week. Decred was originally launched in 2016 as a fork of the Bitcoin codebase, incorporating Proof of Work and Proof of Stake consensus system. Even with the loss of price today, DCR remains near a 2-year high.
#2: Zilliqa (ZIL) ($0.049, +21.85%)

One of the top gainers for today and this week was Zilliqa, up over 50% on the week on news that staking is available on their platform, as well as partnerships with KuCoin and Binance. ZIL is a public blockchain platform founded in 2017 in Singapore, and has been expanding and growing ever since. Investors in the cryptocurrency are optimistic about the future.
#1: Litecoin (LTC) ($117.78, +9.13%)

Litecoin, one of the largest alternatives to Bitcoin, continues to surge in price on a daily basis, and has reached a new one-year high, well above $100 for a single LTC but is still a long-way from the all-time high price of $360 reached three years ago. Litecoin investors prefer it to Bitcoin because of the quicker processing speed, with LTC able to handle more capacity, making transactions much faster and fees much smaller than BTC.
