Hey folks, like many of you may have, I missed the boat on Reddit’s July announcement of their collectible avatars, where you could essentially mint a “Snoo” (Reddit’s mascot) NFT for a cheap price of $9.99. With more than 3 million of these in existence, it was pretty crazy to see some of these sell for more than $200,000 dollars worth of $ETH:
If you experienced some FOMO with these, you now have an opportunity to catch a second wave release of these NFTs, but this time for free!
Here’s how to get it in a few easy steps:
- Open up Reddit (preferably on your phone), click on your profile, and go to the ‘Avatar’ section:
2. Select from one of the many country-specific avatars at the top, customize and save:
3. If you want to send your avatar somewhere else, then from the Reddit mobile app (you cannot access your vault via desktop), once again go to your profile section and select ‘Vault’:
4. If you haven’t setup your vault yet, setting one up is pretty painless and it should take seconds, just make sure you don’t lose your password. Once you have it setup, you can transfer your NFT to anywhere on Polygon:
And there you go! If that’s not easy, then I don’t know what is.
A few things to note:
- These NFTs are all on polygon. Also not only are they free, but they’re free to send out of your Reddit Vault as well too.
- From my approximation, there’s roughly a few million of these available, but seeing as how quickly July’s offering (which were not free) sold out, I would imagine that these are going to disappear pretty quickly too.
- I can’t imagine that these things are going to be worth very much. Then again, I probably would have told that to people buying these up for $10 bucks back in July…Regardless, man these things are cute.
