Do not become one with what is not your soul, my friend,
Grow richer than death—what need have you for stone?
If you wander far from yourself, no road will lead you home;
Seek what you have lost within, where the heart's own pathways roam.
Give not your heart to the mirages of another's world,
Drink from your own spring—its waters hold oceans untold.
Whoever fails to know himself will lose his way in life,
Like a passing shadow, wandering through the endless strife.
But the one who rises beyond the prison of the self
Will reach the sea of truth, and find a treasure beyond wealth.
The world is but a mirror of the heart within your breast;
Keep your soul pure, and every color will reveal its best.
The heart was made for love, not to become a house of pain;
Guard that sacred home, and do not let bitterness remain.
Do not grow weary of the words that others choose to say;
Walk the road that calls your name, and keep your own true way.
When the river finds the ocean, it fears no stone or tide;
So let the winds of life blow—you have roots that reach inside.
If hostile winds should tear the leaves that once adorned your tree,
Strong roots will hold you firm and keep your spirit free.
Every wound that life has left upon your heart bears meaning;
Every pain, when understood, can become a light worth seeing.
And if pain should lift the veil that once concealed the truth,
Then pain is not your enemy, nor is it something to lose.
Sometimes God draws near through all the things that break you down,
To shatter the false idols that your heart has built around.
Then suddenly, within the silence of your lonely night,
You find a hidden flame—a single, everlasting light.
My friend, do not surrender your heart to everyone you meet;
Not every hand that reaches out was meant to offer peace.
Stay close to those who love you with a faithful, honest heart,
But carry not resentment—for resentment makes you hard.
Remain free, even when the world would bind you to its chains;
Rise beyond yourself and let your spirit breathe again.
If love is where your journey leads, then do not fear the road;
No heart can truly know love without carrying its load.
One day the veil between yourself and you will disappear,
And you will see: you sought the very self that brought you here.
Then death will hold no terror, and tomorrow will not frighten you;
For death will be a window opening on a world made new.
Do not become one with what is not your soul, my friend,
Grow richer than death—what need have you for stone?
