A Blossom in My Heart

A single blossom in my heart
Can make the spring twice bright,
Its fragrance heals my weary soul
And fills my dark with light.

Whenever memory speaks your name,
My silent gardens bloom,
And every path within my heart
Still carries your perfume.

Like morning winds through fields of green,
Your presence stirs my soul;
A single smile from you could make
My broken pieces whole.

Though you may wander far from me,
Beyond my eyes and arms,
Your scent remains within my heart,
A refuge from all harms.

One glance from you could wake the sun
From sleeping skies above;
One tender smile could turn my night
Into a world of love.

I do not know what secret lies
Within your eyes so deep,
That even stones begin to bloom
And wounded hearts can leap.

At night I speak with every star
About the thought of you,
And even moonlight seems to fade
Beneath your gentler hue.

Perhaps the wind will carry one day
The words I cannot say,
And tell you how your memory
Still brightens every day.

Though winter sometimes finds my heart
And sorrow fills the air,
Your name alone can bring the spring
And leave a garden there.

Every flower rising from the earth
Reminds me of your face;
Every petal whispers softly
Of your beauty and your grace.

And when the world feels cold and lost,
Your memory remains—
A little light upon my path,
A rainbow after rain.

For love, if true, does not disappear
When distance stands between;
Sometimes the ache of being apart
Makes love more pure and keen.

So long as breath remains in me,
One wish will never die:
That someday, like a springtime flower,
You'll bloom before my eyes.

A single blossom in my heart
You planted long ago—
And though the seasons come and fade,
Its fragrance still will grow.

If ever you return to me,
My winter skies will cease;
The world will bloom once more with you,
And my heart will breathe in peace.
