Khodanur means "God's light"
For Khodanour, that became another reason for resistance after this picture…

Khodanur Lajehi is one of the faces of the recent protests in Iran. After Khodanur was killed, a video of him dancing flooded social media, but what made him a revolutionary figure is a photo that his relatives say is from before the protests.

One of Khodonour's relatives told reporters: After he got into a fight with the son of a low-ranking commander, he was arrested and beaten, and this photo was sent to the boy’s family for a bribe.

This photo of Khodanur, handcuffed to a pole in the heat of summer, with a glass of water in front of him, inspired so much anger.

According to his relatives, Khodanur died on “Bloody Friday” in Zahedan.

On one of the first days of the protests, known as Bloody Friday, the security forces shot the protesters during congregational prayers and killed and wounded at least 100 people with direct gunfire.

Relatives say Khodanur died because of "intentional neglect of treatment" after being shot near the spinal cord.
Khodanur was one of the thousands of "undocumented" citizens in the impoverished southern province of Iran, “Sistan, and Baluchistan”.

But the hardships of life did not take away the zest for life from this 27-year-old young man.
