The Deputy Attorney General of Iran demanded that all prosecutors in the country deal decisively with the illegal cryptocurrency mining centers and the power outages are the punishment for mining as we speak.
According to the information base of the Ministry of Energy, Reza Khoshnoodi, Deputy Attorney General for Public Law, sent letters to public and revolutionary prosecutors across the country, referring to the critical situation caused by the reduction of electricity production, calling on them to deal decisively with unlicensed mining centers.
It is worth mentioning that with the increase of power outages in Iran and the issues it caused at the beginning of the summer season, the Minister of Energy in Iran has blamed the Cryptocurrency Miners and the President recently announced that mining throughout Iran will be forbidden for 4 months. Of course, this does not mean that the government and the relevant institutions will follow the same.
On the other hand, many Iranians are mining Bitcoin illegally without a license. And this has led the government to take measures.
In this regard, those who provide information about unauthorized mining of neighbors or friends or anybody for that matter will be rewarded handsomely! (Benefits of being an informant in Iran!)
