Why Litecoin is a Hedge Against Downtrends in the Market

By Crypto Royale | Test-Publications | 8 Jan 2025

Hi everyone, for a while now i've noticed that litecoin usually doesn't dip that hard compared to the rest of the market, especially considering the fact that it's an altcoin, which impresses me since i usually hold quite a lot of litecoin.

For example, today, bitcoin dipped a solid 6% down from 101k to 93k which is devastating and ofc, everything took an immense hit!

In retrospect, i honestly know for a fact that litecoin is probably closer to a stablecoin (hypothetically) than it is an altcoin. Especially during downtrends, when the market tends to just keep going down. I believe this is honestly likely because of the few whales that just hold litecoin and do nothing, which leads to little price action unless its in the positive, which is always nice to see.

I know the negative decrease in the past 24h is scaring you right now but that's alright. most altcoins were down 10%-50% this past day, and seeing litecoin only go down by 8% was nice although still quite devastating. Especially to those with bigger portfolios.

All in all i just want to share my opinion on why litecoin is better at hedging the market compared to bitcoin for example:
