My personal cryptocurrency journey began in July of 2017. I was sitting in a park outside of Seattle, Washington and it was a beautiful sunny day. I had heard of Bitcoin, and downloaded the Coinbase App. Bitcoin had crashed to less than $2,000 and I was excited to place my first buy order. I bought $100 of Bitcoin and $100 of Litecoin using my credit card, and I have been on the cryptocurrency journey ever since. This is my story.
I had heard of Bitcoin, and my coworker introduced me to blockchain and digital assets. He had told me about how he had financed a vacation with Bitcoin gains, and used Hitbtc to trade all sorts of coins, including his favorite, Litecoin.
After buying my $200 in cryptocurrency in July, I drove deep into research and discovered Ethereum, Neocoin, Ripple and many more. I would trade on Bittrex and Binance all day, and on Saturday, I would setup for Sunday Morning's pumps.
In December of 2017, the cryprocurrency bubble was fully inflated. I received my Bitcoin Cash coins in my Coinbase account, and was able to pay for my entire Christmas with it. Shortly thereafter, cryptocurrencies like STEEM and XRP pumped to insane levels, and my Genesis Mining Dogecoins were sold around $0.1. Life was good, and I learned more and more about about these mystical assets. Neocoin was touted as being the next big thing, and I was getting daily GAS rewards on Binance. Life was good.
All good things come to an end. In December of 2017, the bubble popped. In March, they pumped one last time, and died for over a year.
Today, I am a cryptocurrency blogger and am accumulating the large-cap coins with regularity. I don't day trade coins anymore, and do not want to deal with the daily volatility. I have live through crypto winter, and am still here. I look forward to the day when Bitcoin rises after the 2020 halving and to many more developments. We are entering exciting territory as both Litecoin and Bitcoin are halving their rewards.
