“Independence Day: freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed – else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.”
–Dwight D. Eisenhower
Tomorrow is America's Independence Day. July 4th. In 1776, The Declaration of Independence was signed by the founding fathers and the Revolutionary War began. America was it's own country and declared it's own independence from Great Britain.
The founding fathers put their lives on the line. If America lost the war to Great Britian, they would likely have been hung for treason. They believed in what they committed to, and decided to take action. John Hancock, who's name is synonymous with signature, signed his name in a large and unmistakable fashion. It was a risk worth taking and it paid off.
Tomorrow, America will be 243 years old. This nation has sent the first man to the moon, won two world wars, innovated technology and inspired millions of people around the world to come here for s better life. Immigrant came here from all over the world to places like Ellis Island, Seattle, LA and Chicago to make a better life for themselves and their families.
America has her flaws, of that there is no doubt. There are no perfect human institutions, but I love America and wouldn't live anywhere else. Here's to another 243 years and more! God bless America.
