The cryptocurrency holder said that he still has about $700 in ERC-20 tokens, but they will be instantly stolen when trying to withdraw them.

A Reddit user told how in a minute and a half he lost $1200 in Ethereum, accidentally uploading a phrase to restore access to the wallet along with the code to the github repository. Hackers already had a bot ready for such a case, which almost immediately stole the funds of the cryptocurrency holder.

"A hacker got my mnemonic phrase and stole $1200 in Ethereum from a Metamask wallet in 100 seconds. This happened using a bot to search for mnemonic phrases on GitHub, and I accidentally left my phrase in the code while I was sending it to the Hack Money hackathon," said a forum participant.

He explained that he conducted local testing, but by mistake did not edit the code before uploading it to the network. The user advised not to keep digital copies of their mnemonic phrases or private keys in digital form, especially in the network.

It also still has about $700 in ERC-20 tokens, which can't be withdrawn now. If a transfer is attempted, the bot will intercept it and send the funds to hackers. The bot is configured in such a way that its transaction requests will always be in priority.
