Samsung has introduced a new chip to protect bitcoin transactions on mobile devices

South Korean Corporation Samsung has presented a ready-made standalone solution to ensure the security of operations with cryptocurrency assets on mobile devices.

According to a press release, it includes a SE chip (S3FV9RR) and advanced software.

The solution is designed to provide " protection for tasks such as isolated storage, mobile payments, and others."

"In an era of mobility and contactless interactions, we expect our communication devices, such as smartphones or tablets, to be highly secure to protect personal data and enable FINTECH operations such as mobile banking, stock trading and cryptocurrency transactions," said DongHo Shin, senior Vice President of marketing for the System LSI division of the Corporation.

The new chip hardware supports root of trust( RoT), secure booting, and device authentication. Certified S3FV9RR for the highest requirements for mobile gadgets CC EAL 6+.

The solution is designed primarily to ensure the security of the most demanding devices for these functions, including flagship smartphones, e-passports and hardware cryptocurrency wallets.

The S3FV9RR is expected to be available in the third quarter of this year.

Earlier, Samsung introduced the world's first 5G smartphone with an integrated ID authentication service based on blockchain.
