The British FINTECH startup reported that in April, users began to invest more often in bitcoin and other coins. People over the age of 55 have invested the most in digital assets.
British FINTECH startup Revolut has reported an increase in the popularity of cryptocurrency among its customers from the UK. At the end of April, the number of online banking users investing in digital coins increased by 68%. The total volume of purchases increased by 57%, and the amount of a single transaction increased by 63%, reports Financemagnates.
Revolut users preferred bitcoin the most, with 51% of transactions made with it. In 20% of cases, customers purchased the Ripple XRP token. The third place in popularity went to Ethereum — 14% of the total number of transactions with cryptocurrency. The fourth and fifth places were taken by Litecoin and Litecoin Cash.
Users aged 55 to 64 years invested more in cryptocurrency than others. On average, they spent $423 on each purchase of digital coins. Young users aged 18-24 invested the least in bitcoin and other assets — an average of $134 per operation.
At the same time, in March, during the decline in the price of bitcoin to $3800, the number of investments in the cryptocurrency, on the contrary, decreased. The average purchase amount per week fell by 58%, and the average receipt fell from $663 to $281.
In early April, the British FINTECH startup Revolut provided an opportunity to buy and sell cryptocurrency to all users. Previously, this option was only available for Premium and Metal class clients. There is a Commission of 1.5% per transaction for transactions with digital money.
