How to test a PSU without having a computer - Continuity Test

By CN00b | Inside My Laptop | 4 Jun 2019

Hi everybody,

In this small tutorial you can see how easy is to test a Power Supply Unit without having a computer or a PSU Tester.

All you need is an insulated wire.

Connect a lead to the green wire and the other lead to any black wire( black is Ground)

If the PSU is good, the fan should run continuously.

If is faulty, the fan will not run or runs and stops after a few seconds (Corsair CX600 most encountered issue).

For this test i used Corsair CX600 (dead) vs ACE 500BR.

NOTE!!

You can also use an voltage metter to test the output voltages!
