Why I think medium.com is completely discriminatory against more than half of the world

This is what I see every time I go to write a new post or edit an existing post on medium.com.

What's the problem with that? When I click the "Learn more" I see a page about creators and their partner program.

When I try to join the partner program what do I see? I need to connect my stripe account in there. So I have the following options

351665157-4c6f231247a4e2c4bdc16ec7afd95b13e9be8f154abaaf3a67cacc794340eb0b.png

So what's the problem here? If you see stripe supported countries at https://stripe.com/global you will see India is under "Request an invite" list. So basically a closed beta program. It has been like that for years. A lot of people on medium will tell you that they requested an invite but never got in.

So basically medium keeps on reminding that my stories are not part of paywall. But they do not give me any option of getting in the paywall either. They could have integrated PayPal or any other which has reach in India but they have not.

Recently they went a step further. If my story is not part of the metered paywall it would not be distributed on their platform either only sent to my followers. That is absolutely amazing. medium.com won't let me add my stories into the paywall. They won't distribute stories that are not behind their paywall. See the problem? medium.com might as well add that people in India are not welcome on their platform anymore.

Now, when I go to read a story I see a star on almost every story on their home page. Which means I have to pay for the medium membership. Here's the interesting part. On their payment page where they have to receive money they do not use stripe. They use PayPal.

When accepting money medium.com uses PayPal which has wider reach. When giving money medium.com uses Stripe which has narrower reach.

Would you call it a coincidence? I won't. Because I have sent emails to medium.com about PayPal. They did not fix this problem.
