Nifty 50
Today's Nifty 50 session was decisively bearish, with the index at 23914.45, down 141.35 points (-0.59%) from the previous close of 24055.80. Nifty opened with a significant gap-down at 23858, immediately signaling strong selling pressure and a deterioration in short-term sentiment. Although the index recovered from the opening low of 23786.80, it failed to reclaim the important 24000 level, keeping the overall structure bearish. The intraday recovery toward 23900-23915 shows that buyers attempted to stablize the market, but the inability to cross 24000 indicates that sellers remain dominant.
Market breadth is strongly negative, with only 14 stocks advancing against 36 declining, providing additional confirmation of the bearish setup. The immediate support zone is now 23780-23800, and a decisive break this area could expose Nifty to 23700-23600. On the upside, 23950-24000 has become the first major resistance zone, while 24050-24100 would be required for a meaningful bullish reversal.
For options,PE currently has the stronger probability than CE, but because Nifty has already fallen sharply, chasing PE at the bottom is risky; a fresh breakdown below 23780 would provide better confirmation.
Conversely, if Nifty reclaims 24000 and sustains above it, the immediate bearish view would weaken and relief move toward 24050-24150 could develop, making CE preferable only after confirmation.
Overall bias: Strongly Bearish/Short - PE>CE with 23780 as the critical breakdown level and 24000 as the key level bulls must reclaim.
