Blockchain is one of the key technologies that makes Incent tick. The other is Insync: our patent-pending bank account syncing solution, which enables us to make seamless rewards to any registered user as soon as a payment is confirmed.
The loyalty sector is synonymous with reward cards: those plastic rectangles that look so much like credit or debit cards, but which are used so infrequently that many consumers don’t even bother to carry them with them at all.
The reward card was a major step up in the world for loyalty: one of the sector’s few acknowledgements that the third millennium had dawned. Many loyalty schemes still operate on the firmly 19th-century technology of stamped cards. Despite this upgrade, plastic cards haven’t reinvigorated the sector – although they have created a thriving industry in manufacturing plastic cards.
A handful of loyalty schemes have brought out smartphone apps for receiving and spending points, but even these introduce unwanted friction. When you’re at the front of a long line for coffee and everyone is in a rush to get to work, the extra seconds spent collecting your points count – for you, the barista and all the other customers. So Incent has done away with that step altogether.
Frictionless rewards
With Incent, you don’t need to do anything to collect your reward points – or tokens, in our case, since they’re hosted on the blockchain. So long as you’re registered with our platform and have synced your bank account – a one-off step – then every time you use your card to pay we will automatically credit you with your INCNT.
We do this using our patent-pending Insync technology. This is based on open banking APIs, just like mobile banking apps and accounting software, but with a few extra refinements of our own. (State-of-the-art security and full compliance ensures your data is safe, and we cannot make transactions on your behalf – it’s a read-only relationship with your account.)
Insync means we’re able to tell where and how much you spend, and reward you on those payments – whether that’s your rent or mortgage, a night out or travel expenses. Once you’re signed up, you literally have to do nothing more than go about your day-to-day business.
No more plastic cards. Welcome to the 21st century.
Incent’s waiting list is currently live, with full launch planned for July. Consumers will be rewarded in Incent tokens on every spend they make. To find out more, visit www.incent.com.
