THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING REALLY BIG?
Hi everybody Publish community, let's talk about a recent exciting project... I'm convinced that if it will continue growin with this rhythm will soon be a top platform. I found the announcement for this application among the ads of KuCoin, not in an little hidden blog, and driven by curiosity and the advice of a friend I took a look at the project.
The idea of an UBI (Universal Basic Income) that generates from being an human, a citizen, an active user and an active partecipant of projects is also common to other crypto projects, and also forms the core of this project. Personally this is a concept with which I agree and I strongly support 'cause it's horizontal, equal and proletarian, and I find as well in other projects to which I participate (for example the one concerning the Basic Attention Token).
The basic concept is: users are providing value to businesses with their presence, it's time to take some of this value back and redistributing to the users themselves.
So, talkin about VID, everyday you open the app and push the big button (the one in the upper center) you earn Value Income (VI).
One of the interesting and equal things is that (the white paper says) the amount of VI earned for every click of "the button" is proportional to the wage in your country.
At the same time VID generates engagement between people through a "video sharing network", in a still completely embryonic phase, in which the possible interactions are by now very minimal reduced to:
- publish one video a day shot with your phone
- add people to your circle
- see videos of other users
Currently there is no active interaction with other users (like videos, messaging, etc.), but we're at the beginning of the diffusion and the building of this platform and future updates from the CEOs profiles have leaked in the last days.
Of course, the more interactions you have on this platform, the more tokens you'll receive at the and of the day.
So, with the bottom-left key (calendar) you have access to your video phone library and you can choose a video, cut, paste, put music and inscription, and then publish it and make it public on the VID app. You can also invite new friends and edit your circle of friends (following/followers).
With the bottom-right key (people) instead you can take a look at your friend's videos you haven't seen yet and take a look at the actual trending vids in the social network to discover new interesting persons to follow.
In that central button section I talked about 10 lines above you can also take a look at the details of your your Impact Score, which is splitted up into different parameters: REACH, CREATING, CONSISTENCY, VIEWING, ENGAGEMENT. For their meaning, I refer you to the official website, where it explains exactly how the rewards are calculated... in any case, everything is very simple and intuitive.
Nothin' more nothin' less, by now.
SO, DOES IT PAY? IS IT WORTH IT?
I agree with the project. I think that sharing memories, videos, experiences, is a good way to improve our world. But, is this also convenient for users? By now, the answer at the last question is F#@K YES!
The price of the token? One of the good things in these days. Vid (VI) performed more than a 10X in the last 15 days, while the app is rising in users and popularity, passing from a 0,010-0,012€ range 15 days ago (half of june 2020) to the 0,15-0,20€ range in these last days (july 1st 2020).
I basically made a 1,50/2€ EVERY DAY at the actual prize, in these first week of use, spending 5 mins a day and havin fun. Not bad at all.
