Have you heard of Universal Coin?

What is UniversalCoin?

To direct quote the UniversalCoin team: "UniversalCoin is a digital currency with a difference - it will be distributed completely free-of-charge, and everyone has a chance to participate and get their fair share. All you need is a mobile device and an internet connection."

Their plan is to distribute all the tokens in 40 claim windows, with claim window 13 just starting this week.

Project History.

UNV started as a website to claim which they announced on the bitcointalk forum, originally all you had to do was submit an Etherium address and your tokens would arrive the following week. They paused this system back in July 2018 to work on two things, first was moving to Ethereum Classic as the gas cost of giving free tokens to everyone on Ethereum was very expensive and secondly to create a mobile app. The app changed how to claim to the current system

How do I get it?

First, you download the app, there is both an iOS and Android version, input your Ethereum Classic wallet address which is then stored in-app. Once that's done you can claim up to 200 times in a week by doing simple CAPTCHA questions. Payments are sent out by them on the following Tuesday.

Is there a catch?

Not that I've seen, I've been claiming from the system since drop number 5 and my wallet has always been supplied with tokens.

How is this worth my time?

To direct quote the Universal Coin team again: "As UniversalCoin is distributed, and eventually listed on an exchange, it's value will be determined on the open market. UNV holders can then if they choose to, sell their UniversalCoin. UniversalCoin can also be transferred directly between parties in exchange for goods and services."

Which makes "is it worth my time?" a very subjective question. If you do your research like reading their whitepaper then you should be able to reach a decent conclusion.

How do I get started?

Head to https://universalcoin.io and get claiming!

Note: I don't have any connection to this project other than thinking it's an interesting idea and wanting to get the word out about it.
