(IJCH) Experimenting with Reishi (Ganoderma) Tea (It is AWESOME!)
IJCH - Inside JaiChai's Head (Meaning: My Warped, Personal Opinions and Musings)

Salutations.
I am JaiChai.
And if I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you before, I'm delighted to make your acquaintance now.
I invite you to interact with everyone, learn, and have as much fun as possible!
For my returning online friends, "It's always great to see you again!"
The coolest thing I've been doing lately (thanks to my girlfriend and best friend who found and gathered a bunch of natural Reish in the woods for me a week ago) is experimenting with Reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum and Ganoderma Applanatum) tea.
If you don't know about the health benefits of the Reishi mushroom, here's just a few...
My Personal Results
Just after five days of mixing Reishi tea in my coffee and protein shakes I noticed the following:
- Able to sleep 6-8 hours straight, a BIG DEAL for me since I've been a chronic insomniac since childhood.
- More endurance during workouts and sex.
- A profound "mellower" attitude.
- Normalized eating patterns with better nutrition.
- Increased concentration when reading or doing laboratory work with mycelium (agar dishes and spawn to grain and liquid culture to agar inoculation sessions).
- Motivation to do artwork again.
- and much more...
How to make Ganoderma Tea
The easiest method (for me) is to slice the leathery-to-hardwood texture of the mushroom into slices with a serrated blade and boil for 2-3 hours, strain and drink warm or refridgerate for later consumption.
I used 40 grams of dried Reishi to make a liter and a half of Ganoderma tea.
Note: Boiling only releases the polysaccharides.
In order to get the other benefits of Ganoderma, you must immerse in alcohol (vodka, Rhum, etc.) for at least two weeks. Then you drain the tincture, boil the mushrooms, and add equal amounts of the boiled water to the alcohol.
This "double extraction" provides both the water soluble and alcohol soluble chemicals (beta glucans and triterpenes) for your health.
I am currently soaking a bunch of Ganoderma in alcohol as we speak for my future tincture mix.
