Cancer, Cryptocurrency and Recentralization
"Most people die WITH Cancer, not BECAUSE OF Cancer."
(I cannot remember where I read that statement, but I do agree with its tenets. So, hats off to the original author.)
Some Cancers metastasize so fast that treatment is a moot point. Let's call them "sparrows".
Other Cancers are slow enough that treatment may be a viable option. These are the "rabbits".
But most Cancers are very slow, go unnoticed and inhabit victims of other, more obvious causes of death (i.e., trauma, poisoning, drowning, the all encompassing "old age", etc.). Name? "Turtles".
[IMHO, if a man lives long enough, he will get either prostate Cancer - or at least BPH (Benign Prostate Hypertrophy).]
Imagine you put all those animals in a barn with the doors closed. The "cure" equals the resources needed to catch each animal before they exit the barn when the doors are open.
You would think a rational person would concentrate on the rabbits.
Sparrows are too quick to catch inexpensively and ultimately possess very high mortality rates; while turtles aren't really an urgent threat - and may never be one in the end.
Well, that's not what happens in the real world.
Why?
Irrational investors, centralized Big Pharma and R&D, plus manipulated markets by "less than altruistic", opaque corporate and individual Whales.
So, what does this have to do with cryptocurrency?
Everything!
Think. Think hard.
It's called "decentralization".
Just hope the future is truly decentralized instead of "recentralized" (i.e., a new global economy, but still created in the last one's image.)
Submitted for you to ponder during some quiet moments.
May you and yours be well and love life today.
In lak'ech, JaiChai

About the Author:
Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.
In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.
After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.
Since then, he's been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).
He lives on an island paradise with his girlfriend, teenage daughter and three dogs.
