Mining and Trading Combined

I've recently been writing posts about mining and trading bots. So, I thought I'd try a little experiment where i mine crypto, and then send it directly to a bot to increase my profits. First, I set up xmrig to mine Monero. Since I don't have specialized mining hardware, and I'm mining on my computer, Monero is the only viable option. Since solo mining would take too long, and most pools have a minimum payout, I decided to mine on a p2pool pool. These pools instantly send the Monero whenever I mine any so the bot can start trading much faster. Once I got it running, I was averaging 3.2 kH/s, and usually got 1 or 2 shares per day, though on rare occasions I found 3 or none at all. Next, I set up a Python script to automatically swap the Monero for Ethereum and send it to the bot's wallet. I was only mining 10-20 cents per day, so I had to use a very conservative strategy. Many trades would eat up everything with gas fees, so I made the bot make fewer trades, but at greater profit. I used a simple, grid strategy, buying the lows and selling the highs. I made the bot stop if it lost 10 cents, so that the balance would be restored the next day. This stopped the balance from ever dropping. Either I would make profits, or the balance would stay were it was. This was really effective, but of course we have to take into account electricity costs from mining. So, it might be profitable with a better bot strategy and cheaper electricity and better hardware, it's not for most people. However, it still was a really fun test. I got more practice using coding with crypto, and it was fun to check on the bot each day. Overall, I made 72 cents over 5 days. I made about 71 cents from mining, and then another cent from the bot. I didn't really make any profits because of electricty, but I enjoyed testing this.
