Some More Crypto Reading

Bitcoin (BTC) reading.jpg

So, I don't think that I have finished with my book buying splurge at all... and there is going to be a point in time when I'm going to sit down somewhere and start devouring it all... anyway, this last purchase was a set that I've been wanting to pick up for quite some time. These are texts and lectures by the old school Bitcoin advocate, Andreas Antonopoulos that delve more into the philosophy and reasons for Bitcoin and other public blockchains.... essentially, the technology itself...

... and that is really what excites me. Of course, don't get me wrong, I also get a rush when there are green candles and numbers go up... but the really exciting stuff is the potential for some serious societal and digital change. Idealistic I know, and likely doomed to failure and vested interest capture... but the promise and hope is still there!

Anyway, this is a set of three books (there weren't that many the last time I had looked...). Non-descript, and not at all flashy... pretty much like the speakers and promoters of Bitcoin in the past. It wasn't about flex, self-promotion, hype, and flashiness, there was a real desire to right historical imbalances and to return the digital world back to something that the original naive intention and vision. So... pretty much an idealistic vision to restore a corrupted idealistic vision... hmmm, now that I write that... it does sound a little doomed to failure! On the other hand, without hope... there is nothing!

It really does address topics of WHY we need bitcoin (or some sort of equivalent)... as I have written before in the past, it may be that the Bitcoin movement has been corrupted into something else... and that many of the idealists have moved onwards to other projects like Ethereum. Of course that doesn't mean that every Bitcoiner is lost... or that every Etherean is an angel... but I do get the feeling that the Bitcoin layer-0 has become captured by something else... but maybe in the uncaring, cold light of the universe, it might be that idealism, hope, and dreams will only ever be the spark for others to take over and corrupt? I hope not... but history seems to indicate otherwise.

Anyway... lots of reading and thinking ahead.... after that, I think I might just return back to easier topics of physics and mathematics! But I'm still excited to read and digest the ideas Andreas Antoopoulos has to offer.

GMX.io: Decentralised perpetual futures trading on Arbitrum!
Kucoin: My second choice in exchanges, many tokens listed here that you can't get on Binance!
FTX: Regulated US-based exchange with some pretty interesting and useful discounts on trading and withdrawal fees for FTT holders. Decent fiat on-ramp as well!

Huobi: One of the largest exchanges in the world, some very interesting listings and early access sales through Primelist.
Gate.io: If you are after some of the weirdest and strangest tokens, this is one of the easiest off-chain places to get them!
Coinbase: If you need a regulated and safe environment to trade, this is the first exchange for most newcomers!
Crypto.com: Mixed feelings, but they have the BEST looking VISA debit card in existence! Seriously, it is beautiful!
