Stop and think for a moment, what do you THINK about when you think of a dollar from the United States of America. I think of
- Hundred dollar bills in briefcases
- Wall Street and the stock exchange
- National Treasure and Nicholas Cage looking at the dollar bill--loolol
See, for me there isn't really a culture around the dollar bill. I understand, in my mind, that it stands for the United States of America. It is a symbol of capitalism, but I don't feel a great emotional affinity towards the dollar, even though I don't want it to fail, become devalued.
Another thing going for Doge? Elon Musk. This brilliant, strange, nerd, who also grew up on the internet and trolls around on places like Twitter and Reddit
Like, in all honesty, Elon has so much money already as the richest person in the world, that him poking fun and making jokes about money isn't all that surprising to me. He has that kind of power now. OR, he is genuinely tickled by Doge. I can't say what his intentions are with 100% certainty, but he also does seem to enjoy making fun of things that are supposed to be serious. Hence his Twitter mostly being memes.
