Some people on Fet really do amaze me. They amaze me by the fact that despite being there longer than I, they have learned so little from the community, from people of different ethnicity, income brackets and gender identities, to themselves. I cannot imagine how exhausting it is to be them, how much effort they must spend remaining ignorant instead of doing nothing more than reading others' writings once in a while (between ogling semi-naked bodies), be they the "about me" portion of user profiles, captions on images, posts or discussions (both in and out of groups) and asking questions.

There are approximately thirteen million users on that site. Assuming half of those people write nothing more than a single paragraph the entire time they're on Fet and only a tenth of that is interesting to any particular individual (I'm not counting the copypasta drivel that gets machine-gun fired into the cum dumpsters masquerading as women's DM inboxes), we're not short of material and opportunities for looking through some tiny window into other people's lives as they portray them online. I simply don't understand how anyone can not be interested in that, preferring to live in one's own little bubble and fighting to keep out any people or ideas that might burst it.

Then again, I'm a nerd. I don't always understand people. They fascinate me.
