Having watched 30-minutes or longer videos containing breaking news and opinion pieces on YT from the likes of MSNBC, CNN and other sources, I am now heartily sick of the first hundred days of Donald Trump's second term of farcical incompetence and ineptitude. It's just blunder after blunder and flip-flopping as I see America going haywire and burning. As one commentator said, "it would be funny if it wasn't so disgusting". Trump has no plan nor strategy; he's simply doing what he feels like and giving the Department of General Efficiency (amusingly referred to as DOGE, given that it's headed by Elon Musk) free reign to cancel/cut federal spending on just about everything, including funding for protecting basic human rights enshrined in the constitution. Even Fox News, Trumpist loyalists to the core, have had no option but to report poll results that leave Trump with egg on his face. It's like watching a horror film, except that it's real life. I almost can't bear to watch, except out of morbid curiosity and sick fascination.
The Trump administration has sent the stock market into freefall, tanked the US economy and alienated allies, not to mention made a number of "mistakes" with immigration policy and illegal/unconstitutional deportations without trials for those accused of being "terrorists". On the two things on which he made strong promises (immigration and the economy), he's failing miserably.
The other thing I've been watching is videos on celebrities who ruined their careers and/or ended up in jail. I do this because collectively, they give me hope that no matter how badly I have fucked up and how horrible a person I am in the eyes of the people around me, at least I'm not in jail or a member of the Trump Administration.
I've also been watching videos on the best singers/performers on the various X Factor and Country X Has Got Talent shows, because I need some escapism between episodes of American Train-wreck AKA How to Ruin a Country in One Hundred Days. I do feel a bit bad, though, watching the Ukraine's Got Talent content, given the ongoing Russian invasion, but there's nothing I can do (any more than the prince of lies does ranting on Truth Social, a rather ironic choice of platform for one of the world's biggest pathological liars and bullshitters).
What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

TIL (Seeing as I started on the topic of fascists): Volkswagen was created by the Nazis. BMW and Porsche also had ties to the Nazi party. Along with Ford (Henry ford was an anti-semite and racist), that brings my list of car brands I'll never own to four.
