It probably is, since success, particularly online, is fleeting/temporal. Bugger it, I'm doing it anway, because it makes me happy and gives me a positive feeling about the month to come. I need as many of those as I can get. My ego, on the other hand, probably doesn't need any more massaging/stroking, however. What the heck, here I go ...

I happened to look at my notifications a few minutes ago, at time of writing. Here's what I noticed:

I am a fan of Sir Gerard the 1st, both his writing and the viewpoints he expresses therein. It is an honour to know that the feeling is somewhat mutual. Welcome aboard!

I am also pleased to have one of my writings on the front page of this site. Hopefully, it will grant me more visibility and, in turn, more followers and tips. I could really do with the crypto, since it partly helps to keep me afloat and pay my bills. Besides, I've been on this site (and off and on again) for a while, so I feel I'm being rewarded for my persistence, despite my doubts, misgivings, objections and rants. I'm probably overthinking it and reading too much into it, but whatever, I am pleased for the time being. Besides, I feel compelled to write more than one quick paragraph that is essentially, "whoo, look at me; I did a thing"!
