In all my years on this blue and green planet, despite all my interactions with them, I still don't understand other people (id est, so-called normies, particularly those of the religious and/or vanilla ilk).
If you (any member of the general population, but also those on the spectrum) tell me that something is a certain way, I'm going to assume that it is that way and remains so until such time as you explicitly tell me otherwise. I'm not going to check every week. I also don't pick up (through ESP, osmosis, telepathy or other non-verbal or non-visual cue) that someone's changed their mind.
Likewise, if someone wants clear and honest communication from me, they will get it (provided they don't use it as ammunition against me, or I will stop supplying it — particularly if I suspect that that person's agenda/reason for requesting it in the first place is to do such).
Apparently, the majority of the species operates differently and finds that modus operandi both annoying and difficult to comprehend and adhere to. Personally, I think they need to have their CMOS/RTC circuity checked and replaced. (My ex is a case in point, needing to be told the same thing every two days, without fail, or she'd get faulty. If I said "I love you" yesterday, why do you need to hear it again tomorrow? What the frig has changed, because it's not my feelings nor level of commitment.)
