Flattened fat frog in a side street,
Guts and internal organs burst from its mouth,
Squeezed out as if from
Some macabre toothpaste tube
Or bizarre unwrapping of skin.

This grotesque victim
Was witnessed late one night
After a thunderstorm,
Unwillingly recalled
In the early hours of a morning,
Shortly before waking.

How strange is the mind's eye,
To recall such a hideous thing
Unbidden?
