If you hold an open mic for just any old dingus to walk up and talk for however long they want, you'll get exactly that. The signal:noise goes to 1:∞. All the US school board meetings where people have public comments railing against critical race theory, despite them having no g@ddamn clue what that is, that it's not taught in any grade school anywhere, and that often these people don't even have kids in that school, is ample demonstration of what a completely unmoderated "open discussion" looks like.
Why I Don't Like (and Often Leave) Communities Without at Least Some Moderation
That signal:noise observation was pretty much my first impression of noise.cash (hence why I suspect it's so named).
My writing (on read.cash) about the bungling of how COVID-19 is being (and has been) handled is not a piece for open discussion in which everyone gives their opinion, all sides are seen and we sit around the fire singing kumbahya; it's an ultimatum for selfish dipsh!ts to get on the bus or throw themselves under the wheels and save the rest of us the trouble of having to endure their presence. The parodox of tolerance means I'm perfectly within reason to not tolerate the intolerant.
As for being nice and kind to everyone who pitches up to the pyre (that old Libertarian nonsense): I am the Snark, by name and by nature. I don't do "nice" or "kind" as far as Libertarian, Centrist and Alt Wrong f@@kwits are concerned. I throw them into the flames of my ire and scorn. Yet, somehow, some w@nkstain entirely missed the point of the piece and felt personally attacked by it, that it was his duty to remind me to do just that. Feelings? You know who's got a lot of feelings? Blokes who bludgeon their wives to death with a golf trophy that they probably didn't receive just for participating. Them and Ben Shapiro, but the facts don't care about yours or mine, apparently.

I'd find bigots deplorably funny if they weren't so dangerous. Mask it or casket.
