The first time I stumbled upon @actifit during the good old days of Steemit, back when I first started as a blockchain blogger, I couldn't help but envision the immense potential of tokenizing our everyday activities. The tokenization of almost everything is upon us, and it's a cause for excitement.
In this digital realm, new economies are flourishing, some even bridging the gap with the tangible world. The #playtoearn trend from the previous bull market allowed many crypto enthusiasts to earn tokens by playing games. Among them, Actifit stood out as one of the few #walktoearn apps that rewarded users with AFIT tokens, alongside STEPN.
While STEPN requires users to purchase virtual shoes and other items to use the app, Actifit is completely free, enjoyable, and rewarding. Though there's one downside - it tends to drain the battery quite a bit.

Recently, I came across another #walktoearn app called Sweatcoin, which I want to share with you all. Like Actifit, Sweatcoin also rewards users with SWEAT coins based on their step count. However, unlike Actifit, Sweatcoin doesn't operate on a blockchain. It has its own dedicated wallet app where you can check your balance and carry out transactions.
With Sweatcoin, you can earn coins not only through steps but also via referrals. Currently, the main use for SWEAT coins is to purchase items from their store or contribute to various causes by donating your coins. Personally, I'm keeping my coins for myself since I don't believe the planet needs saving.
Creating an account on Sweatcoin is straightforward, either through email or your Google account, and the app promises not to sell your data - fingers crossed they stick to their word.
In times when inflation is running rampant, and the purchasing power of most currencies is eroding, internet money offers us alternative earning avenues to cope with the poor real-world economy and its lackluster incomes.
While earning SWEAT coins might not make you rich, it's good to have another income stream. You can earn around 1 coin for every 1,000 steps, and there are already over 60 billion coins in circulation. Nevertheless, having such an app on your phone is a smart move.
Who knows, one day your "hard-earned coins" might gain significant value, become tradable on an exchange, or find another exciting purpose.
In today's diverse and evolving economies, having multiple income streams is essential, and even though this app might not replace a proper income, it's a valuable addition to your arsenal. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts!
Until next time, have a great day and Hive on!
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
