In the heart of Dhaka’s bustling urban rhythm, where concrete structures and traffic horns often dominate the senses, there lies a rare gem of serenity my balcony. It’s not grand in size, nor adorned with fancy furniture, but it offers something far more precious: a soulful view that never fails to uplift my spirit. Today, I’m delighted to share with you a series of photographs captured from this very spot glimpses of a calm, green, and open landscape that stretches out in front of my home.

As I step onto the balcony, the first thing that greets me is the gentle embrace of the sky. Whether clouded in a soft grey veil or glowing under the afternoon sun, it creates a majestic canopy over the buildings, trees, and playing grounds below. The buildings painted in earthy pastels and off-whites form an elegant urban silhouette, while the fluffy clouds above add a poetic touch to the otherwise ordinary skyline.

But what truly breathes life into this scene is the vibrant greenery. The tall coconut trees gently sway in the breeze, while the dense mango trees spread their arms wide as if they are reaching out to hug the sky. Their lush foliage adds a rich texture to the view a perfect contrast to the rigid lines of the buildings. The field below, speckled with children playing and people passing by, is a constant reminder that even within the city, life pulses with simplicity and joy.

I’ve captured four photographs of this beautiful setting each telling its own story. The first image showcases the calm before a rain, with a soothing grey sky hanging low above the calm cityscape. The second reveals a more expansive view highlighting the vivid green canopy below and the soft trail through which people walk or kids run around barefoot. The third and fourth photos, recently taken, further dive into the details: the texture of the clouds, the arrangement of the apartment rooftops, and the contrast between nature and urban architecture. Together, they form a collection that speaks of peace, balance, and an everyday kind of beauty.

Every time I gaze at this view, I feel a quiet sense of gratitude. In a city known for its hustle, this small oasis from my balcony brings calm to my mornings and inspiration to my evenings. It reminds me to slow down, breathe deeply, and notice the little wonders around me.
