There's an entire four playoff games tonight, when the first Canadian teams step into the Stanley Cup action!
Washington Capitals - Boston Bruins
The Bruins took command in the last game, and won it in a more commanding fashion than the scoreline suggested. Now they play at home, and I think most things point in their favor. Boston wins!
Nashville Predators - Carolina Hurricanes
The first game was like I expected. Nashville played really well and put up a fight, but in the end the Canes won. I picture something similar happening tonight. Carolina wins!
Winnipeg Jets - Edmonton Oilers
The Jets had an awful run at the end of the regular season, while the Oilers looked really good. Playoffs are a different beast, but I think the Oilers are well suited for this. Edmonton wins!
St Louis Blues - Colorado Avalanche
Another matchup where the first game was as expected - The Blues stood up well, but the Avs were just too good. And same thing here as with the Preds - Canes game, I expect a similar game again. Colorado wins!
There's also a meaningless regular season game first:
Vancouver Canucks - Calgary Flames
Who cares? Not the Flames at least, it seemed last time. But I think they will want to show they are not this bad. I think they will be somewhat more hungry now. Calgary wins!
In summary, my winners are:
Boston Bruins
Carolina Hurricanes
Edmonton Oilers
Colorado Avalanche
Calgary Flames
