Buffalo Sabres - New Jersey Devils

This is a hard one to call. The Sabres have been a lot better since Ullmark came back from injury. But they are still not a great team. The Devils have played OK lately, but they don't win a lot of games. I could see this go either way, but the Devils play at home and they have the better record. I'll give them a slight edge. New Jersey wins!

Washington Capitals - New York Islanders

Two great teams. I expect a good game. A close game. A tough game. One that could go either way. But if I have to pick one, I pick the Caps. They have been really strong for quite a while now. Washington wins!

Pittsburgh Penguins - New York Rangers

The Penguins have played well. So has the Rangers. And the guys New York tend to be very up and down, so it's hard to predict how they will do. But the Penguins have won five of six games against the Rangers, and in such a hard to predict game, I think that record will have to settle it for me. Pittsburgh wins!

Boston Bruins - Philadelphia Flyers

Back-to-back game. Last night, the Flyers won this meeting in overtime. I expect another close one, but I lean towards that the Bruins will bounce back here. Boston wins!

Florida Panthers - Carolina Hurricanes

Top meeting in this division. Florida have done really well lately. The Canes have lost a few games, but they have been close. I expect a really close game, but I think this is the kind of game where the Panthers will miss Ekblad. It could really go either way, but I think the Hurricanes have the slightly better chance. Carolina wins!

Tampa Bay Lightning - Columbus Blue Jackets

Tampa just has to win a game now. The double losses against Detroit should have them angry. I think the Jackets will take the beating for it. Tampa Bay wins!

Nashville Predators - Detroit Red Wings

Deroits double wins against Tampa were very, very impressive. I will not count them out. But the Preds have gone on quite a run, winning eight of their last ten games. It's not a given, but they clearly are the favourites here. Nashville wins!

Dallas Stars - Chicago Blackhawks

Huge game for both teams. They both need a win to take up the hunt for Nashville. Both teams have been very unpredictable lately. I feel that the Stars are on the slightly better trend though. Dallas wins!

Anaheim Ducks - San Jose Sharks

The Sharks have played quite well lately. While I will not count out a Ducks team with such good goalies, I have a clear top dog here. San Jose wins!
