Dear readers know we used to (hitch hike to) busk at the Mardi Gras regularly for years. Then we went to Jazz Fests for years. The peaks there would be lil queenie & the radiators, Chuck Berry with his daughter, others. The gospel tents were always good, but they took hours n hours to build to a frenzy, maybe the choir wasn't 100% with the spirit for some reason at that time on that day. Only one year did we really hit it just right! We came in, it was like the huge, filled tent was taking off to fly around the delta!! Thirteen and fifteen year old kids were playing their heart out on the bass and drums, and the choir/rest of the band/crowd was swaying and rocking, singing ethereally!!! Years after we would force friends to come with us but never hit it like that again.
