Watch the 6-minute video via Falcon 9 and the Starlink Project
Hi! Do you know what Falcon 9 and the Starlink project mean?
This scene was taken by an observer on the ground
in the Anaheim region of California.
The launch took place on December 22, 2017
on a Friday, approximately 45 minutes
after sunset.
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket was used
to carry the Iridium-4 satellite,
communications company Iridium.
Have you ever imagined the Earth surrounded by thousands of satellites?
Recently, on November 24, 2020,
SpaceX made its 23rd launch this year.
At the time, the Falcon 9 rocket carried 60 Starlink satellites
to put it into orbit.
Since the beginning of the Starlink Project
when he made his first trip on June 4th, 2010
so far the Falcon 9 has reached the historic 100-flight mark
and nearly 1000 Starlink satellites were placed in orbit.
A constellation of satellites connected to each other
is forming a gigantic grid that will cover the Earth's orbit.
To meet the demand, CEO Elon Musk
believes that more than 30,000 satellites in orbit will be needed
with the purpose of offering broadband internet
and low latency around the globe.
