As many people are unable to be out and about, whether voluntary or by mandate, I decided to go Live on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch. I set up my equipment, had a few cold ones, and started streaming. I wasn't sure of the reaction that I was going to get from everyone active on social media, but I felt like this would bring a little fun for me - a distraction. Surprisingly, the stream went well. It appears that people miss being out at local party bars and clubs. If you don't know, party bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. have all been ordered to close in Houston, TX - like in most places around the country - or even the world. Yes, that means that I have been out of work for a few weeks now. Fortunately, I have a second source of income that is keeping me afloat.
I received a lot of love from people. Bluetooth speakers were set up by friends to stream my live mixing as they had drinks in their living rooms, and backyards. I was able to give shout outs to people that were active in the comment thread, and virtually interact with them. It was like a virtual party. Several people that knew each other were keeping the comments alive - going back and forth with memes and jokes. There were a few birthdays that were able to listen to my stream. My goal was to distract everyone from the media. Fear is being instilled in people, and their vibrations and frequencies are being lowered. I wanted to bring good vibes, and lift spirits. It seems as though, I was successful.
My first stream, three weeks ago, was inspired by the videos going viral of the people in Italy having sing-a-longs, playing instruments together, and even DJ's playing music for everyone. I thought that it was amazing to see people come together and enjoy themselves in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. I will continue to stream music mixes, video mixes, and anything else that I can think of, to keep people distracted.
Stay safe everyone. Be well.
