Time wasn't passing fast enough for me. I was downloading new music. Creating personal edits for many songs that I thought would be great for building energy in a club. I was constantly creating scenarios in my head and replaying them. I was both extremely excited and anxious at the same time. Yet, I felt that nothing could prepare me for what was to come.
As the big day arrived, The nervousness grew to levels that I hadn't felt in quite a while. Continuously repeating Eminem's lyrics to 'Lose Yourself' in my head to gain confidence. My goal was to capture the moment. To make it mine. This was my time to shine. I would be in the spotlight for a few hours. All eyes would be on me, or at least in my direction. The day arrived. The hour arrived. I began to set up my equipment. Center stage of a venue that held a capacity of several thousands of people. Every connection and every wire were double and triple checked. There was no room for error. The doors had not opened for business yet, and there was a line wrapping around the block with people super pumped and excited to enter.
It was time. The first song of the night was being played. Shortly after, people started walking in. Most walked directly to the stage guaranteeing their spot for the show. They didn't even care to get themselves a drink. Suddenly, the venue was full. At capacity. The event coordinator approached me, and brought four shots of Patron Tequila. We took two each - back to back. I didn't even make a face. I didn't even care to bite into the Lime. I was ready. I was focused. The energy had been built. The crowd was definitely here to party - except for those who were still standing right in front of the stage. I looked in to their eyes often as they were standing there. They didn't dance much. They still hadn't had anything to drink, and it has been two hours since the door opened.
Just after midnight, I was told that he was walking in. The man people came to see was in the building. Looking to my right, I was trying to make eye contact with Security, Event hosts - really anyone that could tell me when he'd be walking on stage. A couple of minutes had passed, and I was told that he was not ready to walk up to the stage. I waited another minute, and still nothing. I could see the frustration growing in the crowd. It had been announced on the microphone that he had arrived, yet, he was no where in sight. So, I decided to play one of his hit songs with a special intro that I created to build the suspense. It worked perfectly. Not even 15 seconds in to the song, the crowd went wild. Chris Brown ran up the stairs, and on to the stage. He shook my hand and I handed him the wireless microphone. He quickly started singing along to 'Show Me'.
Chris Brown brought a date that night. He was with the beautiful Karrueche:

If anyone here is a fan of Chris Brown, or entertainment news/gossip, then I'm sure that this is a story that you have heard. Chris Brown was with Karrueche. Unfortunately, as he walked up to the stage, a female fan tried to grab Chris Brown and kiss him - right in front of Karrueche. Chris Brown wasn't having it, so he did what any man with common sense would do if they were with their woman. He pushed her face away.

All in all, it was a night to remember. I didn't get many pictures or videos because I was too concentrated on the performance, but I was able to find a lot of content online after the event.
