Cash app users beware of hackers. Do not trust cash app. I thought cash app was safe. Nope I was wrong! I was having my SSI Disability checks deposited into my cash app account at the beginning of each month since I have been living now in pennsylvania. Everything was ok until March 2021, when I notice there were some transactions made from my cash app account. Transactions like sending people money and receiving payments. These transactions exceeded what was in my cash app account. Money was being sent and received from my cash app account while there was no funds available! Each transaction that was made was also to people I do not know in huge amounts.
I thought nothing of it at first because it was not affecting me because there was no funds in my cash app to begin with, so I did not even know how those transactions were even being made. But I did decide to however call social security and have them change the bank deposit information that they had on file because I had suspected that my cash app account was somehow hacked and tampered with. Social Security had then informed me at the end of the call that everything was corrected an would take effect the following month on the 1st. Now the 1st of April comes around and at 4 something in the morning my whole SSI Disability money was stolen from my cash app account and transferred over into bitcoins.

I started to cry screaming in tears at 6 something in the morning on the 1st of April, checking my bank account like I usually do on the 1st and seeing that all my money was stolen and transferred into bitcoins. The people that also stole my money had unlinked my phone number and replaced it with their own. The hackers also removed my email address replacing it with there own as well.
I was on my phone and computer all day long crying and stressing out because all my SSI Disability is what me and my little family live off. There is no other income in our household. Then finally on the internet I was able to find a number to call cash app support, because on the app they only have an email to contact support and you have to wait 24 hours for a response. I was not about to let hackers steal my money, and I had already emailed them and wasn't going to wait.
I called the number and explained my situation crying and very stressed out. The cash app assistant did not speak english but was very much helpful to my surprise. At first the cash app assistant was trying to insist that it was me doing these transactions that I had mentioned earlier and was just trying to screw around and get money. I gave them permission to look into my account and see that it was not me. I also told the assistant why would I wake up special on the 1st of April to purchase bitcoins when I have never before ever bought bitcoins in my life, let alone buy bitcoins with my cash app account. I never once used my cash app for such things. The cash app assistant then said she would contact me by email letting me know how they were going to resolve this problem because they had to further investigate my case.
I then hung up the phone and was constantly checking my email for any responses back to me from cash app support. Then finally towards the end of the day something had told me to try and make an online order at one of nearest gas stations, so I did, and to my surprise it went through. I then decided to check my email and also to my surprise cash app had sent me an email saying that they had refunded my money and also closed my cash app account down so no further action was needed from me, that's what the email had said. So I then went down to the gas station at almost 9pm an took out the whole $816.00 dollars that was stolen from my cash app account.
Now I kinda knew in my heart and mind something was just not right about the email. I had also got an email from the IRS saying that my stimulus check was going to be deposited into the account that they had on file on the 7th of April in the amount of $1,400.00 dollars. I started crying and freaking out because I had just had problems with my SSI Disability money getting stolen from the cash app account. I called the cash app support number I had called the previous day to explain to them about my stimulus check that was going to be coming into the cash app account and cash app told me that I had no worries because they had shut my old account down and there was no way to access the account. I then hung up the phone thinking ok I hope so. But on the 7th of April something woke me up at 2 something in the morning telling me to go the atm and check the cash app debit card to make sure it was fully shut down. So I went down to the atm and put my card in an pin and requested $700.00 . the $700.00 came out , I then knew right then and there my card was not shut down and cash app lied to me. I then took another $300.00 . Now I didn't know that cash app limit for a withdrawal in a day is $1,000. So I went to a bank atm and tried to take out the $400.00 remaining in cash app and it would not let me. That is when I found out cash app has a daily withdrawal limit .
I went home and went online and immediately started paying bills that needed to be paid with the remaining money in cash app. I was able to get all my stimulus money out of cash app on time before the hackers could track it and steal that too. My advice to those that have cash app is to be aware and be careful for cash app truly can not be trusted and it is truly not a safe app, but then again which apps truly are safe?
Thank You
