I chantel have lived my life of 32 years on the Big-Island of Hawai'i. My summers were spent always going to the beach with family , friends, or by myself. Camping was always a must that the family had to do, seemed like every other weekend. Never used sunscreen maybe once or few times when I was a baby but it was because we were raised up and taught about cancer caused from sunscreen in the islands. Only because us local island people are always out and about in our bikin tops and surf shorts in the sun. The sun never does blaze hot temperatures. Degrees in Hawai'i were never over 74 degrees at the most, well that is in the area where I grew up on the island down in the south. I am also hawaiian blood, hawaiian history most of the true natural born hawaiians skin color was really a tan color. I had a nice tan once. I was so use to my summers and days being spent at the beach.

Now being here in pennsylvania the temperatures are outrageous. Can not stand the heat at all. Even the pool water can get pretty warm if the temp is high. I am now swimming in a pool with my son and fiance because there are no beaches like what I'm use to. Here in pennsylvania its jump in a pool, stay indoors, drink plenty plenty cold fluids, take cool showers, stay in front of the fan or AC, go to a lake or river and swim. But me mostly its been pool time. Not really fond of it because its not my own, lols, using the neighbors pool, we do get along with the neighbors here.
